Frankie the Doggie aka the Sausage

Today I am presenting one of my first crochet makes, made about 3 years ago, when I was expecting my first-born. Turned out that A. was not interested in this doggie at all, however J. absolutely loved it. It is still my kid’s faithful friend, although we call him not Frankie as the original pattern suggests but Sausage.

Sausage was created based on the pattern from the below magazine.

It wasn’t the easiest pattern to follow for a beginner but the effect is worth a try. I was quite pleased with myself when I finished it.

Ellie the Elephant Lovey

Today I am proud to show you lovey blankie I made for my baby girl. I didn’t have a particular pattern or design, just an idea in my mind and I added some bits as I went through violet Rico yarn. I started knitting small blanket in basket weave to give it nice texture and finished in crochet picot edge. I still had a small ball of yarn left so I decided to try amigurumi elephant, it was just enough to make head and arms and to sew all bits together. I was really pleased with the effect and my baby seemed to like it too. At some point she couldn’t fall asleep without her lovey.

Without further ado, I present to you Ellie the Elephant.

Ellie makes really nice cuddly toy, can go for a walk as stroller companion or can even keep your wriggly baby warm at night if made big enough. My girl was a bit startled by me taking a photo but still held her lovey 🙂

How about making a lovey tonight?
